Growth at Orlando Health South Lake Hospital
Market Growth Drives Major Expansion at Orlando Health South Lake Hospital
Central Florida continues to grow at unprecedented rates. So do residents’ expectations for connected, quality healthcare that’s near where they live and work.
“This is an exciting time for our hospital,” said Lance Sewell, president of Orlando Health South Lake Hospital. “Lake County is steadily and rapidly growing, and we’re excited to continue growing with it. By expanding our facilities, we'll be able to increase the types of services we offer while providing the quality care that Orlando Health is known for to even more people in the communities we serve.”
Re-alignment of Don Wickham Drive
The first phase of construction will begin with the re-alignment of Don Wickham Drive to intersect with Legends Way and will include the addition of a stoplight to improve traffic flow.
Center for Women’s Health Expansion
The Women's Center third floor expansion is now open featuring a new postpartum unit and state-of-the-art nursery. Renovations for the hospital’s women’s center will be completed in 2023.
95-bed Patient Tower
Orlando Health South Lake Hospital will be adding a five-story patient tower as an extension to the existing 140-bed acute care hospital. This expansion will nearly double the size of current bed count, as well as bring new services to the community. The completed tower will allow for an expanded intensive care unit. The expansion is anticipated to be completed in January 2024.
