Bio
Andrew Karen, MD, FACOG, is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist with Orlando Health Physician Associates Women’s Health. He has been a leading provider of women’s healthcare in South Lake County since 2008.
Dr. Karen provides women with preventative gynecological services, family planning, and care during milestones such as pregnancy, birth, menopause and more. Additionally, he is skilled in gynecologic oncology, high-risk obstetrics and advanced laparoscopic surgery as well as specialized training with the da Vinci Robotic Surgery system and Hydro-Thermal Ablation (HTA).
Obstetrics and Gynecology
Dr. Karen is a reassuring presence as he delivers experienced obstetrical care, guiding women from conception through childbirth. This includes preconception counseling, prenatal care, labor and delivery, and postpartum depression. He also coordinates referrals for patients in need of prenatal genetic counseling.
With an understanding that each woman is unique, Dr. Karen’s focus is always on putting patients at ease and addressing questions and concerns during gynecological visits. He offers well-woman visits, preventative services, and diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the reproductive system.

Dr. Karen’s Training
Dr. Karen received a bachelor’s degree in biology from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and earned his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in Iselin, New Jersey. He then completed an obstetrics and gynecology internship at Stamford Hospital in Connecticut and a residency, also in obstetrics and gynecology, from Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh where he was chief resident.

Dr. Karen is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a member of several professional organizations, including the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, American Medical Association, Florida Medical Association, and Lake-Sumter Medical Society.
He is fluent in both English and Swedish.

The Patient Satisfaction Rating is an average of all responses to the care provider related questions, shown above, from our nationally-recognized Press-Ganey Patient Satisfaction Survey. Patients that are treated in outpatient or hospital environments may receive different surveys, and the volume of responses will vary by question.
Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best score.
The comments are submitted by patients and reflect their views and opinions. The comments are not endorsed by and do not necessarily reflect the views of Orlando Health.
Ratings may not be present for certain physicians of Orlando Health Physician Group and Orlando Health Physician Associates because:
